Learn to play ... like many players don't!
VTK organizes guitar lessons in Leuven for all KU Leuven students, not just VTK members, willing to learn how to play the guitar. In a series of 18 lessons of one hour and 15 minutes the virtuose Kostas teaches the technique of fingerpicking. You can visit Kostas' facebookpage or his website.
The subscribe moment will be on the 11th of october 2018, in MTC1 00.12. There will be a small demonstration, and the possibility to ask questions to the teacher. The fee for the whole year is €200.

The style of playing is called 'fingerpicking' (as opposed to strumming), this enables the student to perform several musical elements simultaneously. Physically, "Fingerpicking" refers to using each of the right hand fingers independently in order to play the multiple parts of a musical arrangement that would normally be played by several band members. Bass, harmonic accompaniment, melody, and percussion can all be played simultaneously.
Kind of music
- Song Accompagnement
- Music theory
It's also possible to suggest a song you like, and Kostas will make a fingerpicking transcription and teach it.
Still not convinced?
Hundreds of students have taken the lessons, all very enthousiastic about it, as can be seen in some testimonials!
