Scientific Collaborator Education and Training Projects

You ensure the daily management of the SCK•CEN Learning Centre (which takes care of the continuous professional development (CPD)program of our own collaborators) and contribute to the projects of the SCK•CEN Academy (which offers training in nuclear subjects for SCK•CEN staff as well as third parties and is involved in national and European projects).

•you are in charge of the CPD program offered to SCK•CEN staff and of the development of CPD initiatives at the level of the individual collaborator, the team and the organization: •collect and analyze the needs for training of SCK•CEN collaborators, jointly with the direct managers, HRM, ISPPW and other relevant units at SCK•CEN; •set up an appropriate offer and attract relevant internal or external training providers; •ensure quality, effectiveness and efficiency of offered trainings and, when necessary, adjust them to the needs of our organization; •guide administrative collaborators regarding practical organisation and registration of the training sessions in the dedicated database; •cooperate with the person in charge at the Human Resources Management group for training aspects within the frame of competence management; •ensure follow-up of new trends in training & learning development.

•Upon guidance of the head of the SCK•CEN Academy, work on national and international E&T projects (e.g. 7FP, Horizon2020). (At a later stage) Manage and draw up projects yourself; •Represent the SCK•CEN Academy at national and international level; •Follow up of the BNEN programme, manage the budget; •Review the SCK•CEN Academy course material together with other lecturers – explore the possibilities for e-learning; •Give courses on basics of nuclear physics.

Wanted Profile

•master’s degree or PhD in Sciences or Engineering Sciences with an additional degree of pedagogic ability or relevant professional experience in pedagogic and educational approaches and basic knowledge of nuclear principles and applications; •wide interest in training projects; •knowledge of “learning in an organization” is an asset; •you are ready and able to work in an international environment and to go on short term missions; •good leadership and communication skills; •you show initiative and have strong organizational skills, you like teamwork; •good writing skills (in Dutch, English and French); •strong interest for all SCK•CEN activities; •appropriate knowledge of office tools (namely MS Office package and e-learning/distance learning packages). •thorough knowledge of Dutch, French and English.
